Literature Text

I can see the tears falling down your cheeks,
witness through the frost the salty trails they leave,
but I cannot dry them.
I cannot lick them off.
You cry silently because there's no one here to hear you
and even if there was, they wouldn't be able to.

You cry tonight because nobody sees you
and no matter how much you spill
you've got no one to share your pain with,
but you don't want to.
And you cry.

There is no solution, that's what you say
and to die would be too easy a way.
But you never liked easy.
And you're tired of fighting an endless battle.
So you cry.

The glass is cold if I rest my forehead upon it
and I fist my hands in repressed anger
because I don't like to see you cry,
because I don't like to hear you cry,
because I don't like to feel you cry.

It hurts, your pain, and you refuse to share it.
So many nights in this bottomless twilight, waiting,
where no one can see you but me.
Because this mirror never fogs up
so I can see you clearly, and be you clearly.
And you cry...
I wrote this around December 2005 and it has not gone under further edition because I like the rawness of it. It was a very emotional time. Bear with me.
